When Nothing Is About

This body of knowledge knew me
inside out. She wore nothing.
I wore nothing. And nothing is about.

No plans to plant the garden
no plans to build or refine
no plans to cancel, no plans to rise and fall
no savings plans for our futures
no plans to review anew.
No nothing could be
when nothing is about.

It was a body in a cage
confident of nothing
but a rhythm inside out
that's the way it is
when nothing is about.

The body never tried to recover
but what does it matter
and never mind
time runs out
when nothing is about.

What's true today
and false tomorrow
can be true again, no doubt.
But forever never sees the light of day
when nothing is about.
