Going into the series the Pisces were the clear underdogs. After the Pisces lost the opener it seemed a sure thing that the Beats would gain their first Cosmic Universal Series flag in three attempts. Then the Beats seriously faltered and the end result is the Pisces are this season's champions for the fifth time (in six Series appearances).
Rookie Pisces right fielder and former actress Diane Varsi gets the nod for the game's most cosmic player. She was instrumental in the manufacturing of the Pisces second and go-ahead run. She started the ball rolling with a lead-off single in the second inning. In the fifth inning her sacrifice added the third run to the Pisces' tally.
Like much in this particular series, it was a team effort. The Pisces' synchronization involved a coordinated offense and defense. Game starter and actor Kelsey Grammer pitched a superb eight innings and poet E.B. Browning picked up the save.
