Cosmic Games Will Resume
April 21
As a response to the war between the United States and the Republic of Iraq, no regular Cosmic Baseball Association games have been played since March 19. The games will resume on May 1. Approximately 960 games (40 per team) have been missed. No decision on when or if these lost games will be played. If they are to be played the season would need at least a month's extension.

Cosmic players are currently reporting back to their teams and will spend the balance of this month preparing to resume their competitions.

Lot 165
Sale 1216
Four more items from the Jack Kerouac literary estate will be auctioned by Christies on April 8 in New York. In May, 2001 Kerouac's On the Road scroll was sold for more than two million dollars to the owner of the Indianapolis Colts professional football team. The scoll for the Dharma Bums was once offered for sale for $300,000-400,000, but the highest amount offered was only $190,000 so the 1957 scroll was not sold. This time around, the sellers are asking for $100,000-150,000. Also for sale is an inscribed 1959 first edition paperback copy of Doctor Sax, inscirbed by Kerouac to his friend Charles Sampas and Kerouac's future wife, Stella Sampas. The cost is between $7,000 and $10,000. A 1959 first eidtion of Kerouac's novel Maggie Cassidy, inscribed by Kerouac to his mother, Gabrielle, is for sale for $8,000-$12,000. Finally, the 1952 typed manuscript for Doctor Sax is sellng for $35,000-$50,000.
